On Saturday Sam split firewood all day for a customer. They stated they had 3-4crd, so he left around 6 with plans to be home early afternoon. 8crd later I saw him at around 7pm that night. The boys and I spent the day decorating the house = major mess.
Sunday was crazy. I realized I had forgotten to get a gift for a birthday party Ben was invited to that afternoon. Ben and I left first for church at 8:20 to hit Walmart and get a nerf gun. We met Daddy and the other boys at service. From there the plan was lunch, a tree and then the 1 party. Well, we had promised the boys CiCi's and when we got there, it was locked and PACKED. We waited a few minutes and found that yep, they were open but they also were hosting some sort of kids award banquet. It was nuts. So, with a very tearful Nathan in tow, we went across the plaza to Panda Express. Next up was a tree. I was so sad that we are so incredibly busy that we couldn't cut one down at a tree farm this year. Pre-cut it was. The boys didn't seem to mind too much but it made me very sad. Just not the same. Lowes does bring holiday cheer to me like a tree farm with fresh cider brewing.
What a big help!
Sam brought the two little ones home and Ben and I headed to Walkersville for a bowling birthday party - his first time bowling. He was so excited. It was a nice 2hr social time for me and two of my friends so it wasn't too bad. True to Ben athletic form, he did awesome and got all but one pin the first time he rolled the ball.
I took video, but it is having a hard time loading for some reason.
A bunch of us had to leave bowling early to get to church for Christmas pageant practice by 3pm. Dropped Ben off and then my friend Christie and I headed to Starbucks (much needed and stop #3 there for the day) and Michael's. Picked Ben up at 4:30 and headed home to a lit up house with fresh baked bread and lasagna cooling. (I will add that I got up at 5am to make the dough for the bread and the lasagna - but still my husband is great ).
With VERY tired children as Nathan and Nicholas had stacked firewood since they had gotten home at 1 and hadn't even stepped foot inside, we had our dinner. Sam brought the tree in and the boys got the lights on, but that was the extent of tree decorating as they were exhausted - as were we!
Teamwork. As you can see Nicholas was VERY excited.
