They are getting so big!!
The boys were very excited about the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Next it was time to select a pumpkin. The rule is that you have to be able to carry it to get it.
The little boys were slightly overwhelmed at the possibilities.
Ben, on the other hand, was on a mission to find the biggest possible pumpkin.
Success
A valiant effort. Daddy caved and the rule was modified to if Daddy can carry it, you can get it.
Helping Nicholas with the pumpkin he picked out.
Trying hard to pick it up after Nathan put it down.
In the end, Nicholas decided he wanted to wait and get a little pumpkin back at the farm store that he can carry. Nathan proceed to find a pumpkin to rival Bens.
Daddy with the older boys loot. Good thing Daddy is strong!
By time we checked out and loaded, it was 2:30pm. We had been on the road since 7:30am and out in the wind and sun. The following two photos were taken about 2mins from the pumpkin patch.
While the little boys rested, Daddy did a Home Depot run and I got an Aldi trip in. Next, we woke them up for grocery shopping. All in all, we didn't get home till after 4pm. We were very tuckered out.
BUT - it was time to decorate!!!
While I cleaned out the front garden a few weeks ago, I hadn't gotten to the Morning Glory from the arbor. So, it had to go. Daddy enjoyed having the photographer be the photographed.
The finished product. It will look much better once my mum blooms.
First he finished trimming back the flowers in the back flower garden.
I'd say he did a pretty good job! The two small pumpkins are what Nicholas picked out at the farm store - just his size for carrying.
