Sam brought home the bobcat to dig up in front of the garage. It was a messy, yucky mixture of concrete, gravel and weeds. We'd love to put pavers down, but we also would rather spend that kind of money on something we will enjoy more. So the plan is to plant some nice grass and keep it maintained. Anything will be an improvement! I don' t have a before, but it was bad. We'll get seed down this weekend.
Weed and Gravel FREE!!!
Nathan LOVED the bobcat. While he had it home, Sam worked on removing a lot of dead brush up in the back behind our fence. Whenever he turned it on Nathan would go screaming and running for him to wait. With the amount of 'rides' Sam gave, he really didn't get a whole lot done!
Nathan's cheesy big smile.
Some inside projects are happening also. I painted the bathroom on Saturday. That was quite a task as Sam had to work and I had the boys by myself. Nicholas was so helpful as to put paint on a brush and hand it to me while I was rolling the wall behind the toilet. Needless to say, I had a lot of scraping to do on the toilet afterwards as I really didn't want that to be green. Ben and Nathan were entertained with 2hrs of tv. They were in heaven! Thank goodness for DVDs. Not to worry, we were outside by 9:30am.
As some of you know my bathroom was a pale yellow. I've been wanting a warmer color for some time. It is now Hazy Jade. As usually, pictures don't do paint color a whole lot of justice!
Next up - the kitchen. Stay tuned as that is a HUGE project (for those long distance readers who haven't been to our house, our kitchen is huge with vaulted ceilings.
On a different subject, Nicholas really enjoys the crafts he makes at Sunday school. Each boy has a bulletin board that they put their work on. He will go in and take everything down - placing the push pins back on the board as he removes the items he wants - and parade around with them. It is so darn cute!
Future Pastor?
Today we woke up to rain and clouds and I was actually happy as we needed a lazy day. We got a really good morning of school work done, had about an hour to work on puzzles and then naps. This afternoon was the big task of changing clothes over from winter to spring. Oh my, I despise doing this. First, is the pain of getting them to try stuff on. Then, you have all the piles to be put in the attic of stuff that doesn't fit. At least with Nicholas it goes in a box and out of the house the next day. It is definately a chore! I'm glad to have that behind me until fall! As I do this at each change of season, I think of you, dear Jenn and the fact that you have to do this for six children. God bless you!
