Six Years Later

Hard to believe that Ben turned six this past week. He has had a 3 week celebration. The week before his birthday Mammy and Gramps visited with cake, presents and a birthday lunch at CiCi's. Last weekend for his actual birthday, Sam and I took him to Medieval Times which was a huge hit. That place is such fun.  This weekend was his friends birthday party. He had 3 friends over and requested a Grave Digger cake (Monster truck).

So, my lovely digital camera did not come with a memory card - no wonder it was so cheap! We figured, no biggie, we have tons at home. Yeah, they don't fit. On top of that, my internal memory is nata so I could only take 5 pictures total. Back to the store I go!

Showing off his Lego House he bought with his birthday money. He was very excited that it came with a lawnmower.

Helping me make the cake mix:

The best part of cake baking!

The end product. Ben told me I was very creative and an excellent cake maker :-)

It was a very exciting day for them. We had lovely 50° weather so even though it was wet from all the rain, it was warm. Sam set up a zip line and had fun digging in the sandbox. Ben actually asked to go to bed at around 6:30pm! He was beat.

Winding down: we created a 'reading corner'. For those of you that don't know my kids very well, they LOVE books and spend hours looking at them. Especially Nathan and Nicholas. So I used some old pillows and a throw rug I had bought for my sewing room (sigh) to pull this together. They absolutely love it and spend many hours looking at their books and playing their Leapsters there.
