Florida Post 1

We spent Memorial weekend in St. Augustine Florida.  We had a great week and wonderful weather even if mom was suffering from shingles (yuck!).  Ben stayed with Mammy and Gramps and is due to arrive home next week. We are missing him!

Ben's 1st Sand Castle design

We went to a hands on history colonial museum. It was so inexpensive and so very good! The boys had a blast and wanted to go back again but we ran out of time. Ben said this was the best part of the vacation.

Get their job assignments. Ben was a solider and the little boys were builders.  They then had to answer questions about their jobs.

Crushing corn kernels. Not as easy as it looks!

Making coquina - crushed shells that are then mixed with sand and water to make a concrete style paste for building.

Ben had to practice protecting the home during the night. He had to sit on a bench that had two legs so that you had to stay awake to keep it balanced or you would fall. He decided he wouldn't have made it through the night.
