7 Years of Fun

As with tradition, we spent the solstice weekend at Greenbrier for Nathan's birthday.  Sadly, poor weather had us have to cancel his party on Saturday and reschedule for the few that could come on Sunday afternoon.  Regardless we had a great weekend. It was so nice to be away from everything (especially email!) for a few days.

Sam tried to convince the boys to sleep in the tent and let us sleep in the camper alone. They lasted about 3 minutes.  Here they are setting it up.  The tent did serve as a great changing spot and kept the sand out of the camper

Our friend Jenn, her friend Ted and their combined 9 kids came and spent a cool and dreary Saturday at the lake with us. We actually had a fantastic time even if it wasn't sunny.  It happened to be Ted's daughters 7th birthday on the 21st also so they brought cupcakes (our cake stayed at home for Sunday).

He did enjoy opening some presents that night (wearing a new sweatshirt from Nana & Papa).  It was a Marvel birthday - I feel like I should take up stock in batman.

Very excited about the remote control helicopter from Aunt Heather.  He had one from a few years back from Aunt Susie that died and was desperate for a new one.

A few friends were able to make it Sunday afternoon.  My VERY sad batman cake. I had zero time to bake and he wanted batman so this is the best I could do! I used sooo much fondant with his cape it was nuts.  He was happy so that is what matters!
