Today Nathan went to Super Derby. As expected he got his butt kicked, but he had a good time! It was held at the mall and was a bit nuts.
In other news, demo on the downstairs of the house has been a bit stalled as Sam bought himself a project. He has been searching for a hay elevator to convert to conveying firewood for about 3yrs. He finally found one. While he will have more $ into fixing it then he paid, it will still be thousands less than what they cost new. I've been promised that the downstairs remodel will start by the beginning of April........stay tuned on that one!
Surprise, it actually works! We had quite a time getting it off his trailer. They had loaded it with a tractor. We do not have one of those (yet). It wasn't pretty and we actually had neighbors from two house down watching us. We are officially the town entertainment.
The funniest part is when he came home with our neighbors wife was commenting how she thought he picked it up somewhere to sell it for scrap metal. That made me laugh quite hard. It does look SOO lovely in my driveway.... Once fixed it will reside at his shop with the wood pile which is the good news.
So far he has gotten the axle off and painted. He had to weld this piece (whatever it is) as it broke when we were unloading it. Here it is all fixed and partially painted. As you can see from his face, it was a bit heavy but he didn't want my help. Having a weekend of very warm temps has moved him along quite well.
I may take a hammer to the downstairs just to get him moving :-)
