Rainy Day Joys...

Nicholas and Nathan had their first soccer game on Monday night. Nicholas lasted a lot longer than I had suspected he would. Nathan got a goal which was very exciting. Nicholas almost did and was quite bummed and had a bit of an attitude issue over it.

Nicholas started out a bit confused on the field :-)

Goal for the Cheetahs! Next to Nathan is his little friend Mora. He talks NON STOP about Mora - Mora this, Mora that. I do believe my little one has his first crush. He is begging for her to come play. Time to get to know Mora's mom!

Nicholas remained very focused. Beside him is his friend Hannah (Coach Kim's youngest daughter)

In other news, we had a great day yesterday. It was pouring so Sam was home. We did school work in the morning (with Daddy's physical help explaining and showing how muscles work) then just hung out. Family hot tub time, naps, cooking and then a movie before dinner. With no soccer I was able to make something that didn't require a crock pot :-) Sometimes you just need a day to unwind and relax!

Nathan had his first test yesterday in school. He was so proud (as I was) that he scored a 100.

Our friend's the Cook's shared a bounty of apples that was bestowed upon them. So -yesterday we started in on the batch! It was a team effort to make apple crisp and applesauce.

Daddy and Ben peeled, Nathan helped pour the other ingredients in. (Nicholas was napping))

Making the topping for the apple crisp

We also passed the time with a little art. The boys were painting using the fingers and hands (always a favorite - who needs brushes?)

After finishing his project with watercolor crayons, Ben was anxious to be young again.
