The Count Down Begins

Well it's beginning to feel like Christmas here. Nana and Papa arrived and Mommy is officially on vacation for 2 weeks. Presents are starting to accumulate under the tree. The boys have done a fantastic job leaving them alone. Every morning Nicholas asks " Mommy, is today Jesus' birthday?" When I say no he replies with "ohh" which in Nicholas' words is this really pathetic but adorable sigh.

Everyone knows my boys are, how do I say this delicately, early risers. We had to leave for the airport at 6am - no biggie in my house as we are usually through activity one by then! Well, here is Nathan at 6am

After waking him and then Nicholas, we were off. They spent the first 10min of the ride debating where Nana and Papa were going to sit. I knew we were in for a long drive.

Some very excited boys at BWI

We had a long day with no naps and all the excitement. I gave the boys baths before dinner and we decided to let them open a present. I didn't get them dressed as I knew what they were opening!

New PJ's were on their wish list so they were actually very excited. Ben has wanted footed PJs and I keep saying no as he is so hot all the time. He was very happy with his gift.

Calming down after dinner with a little Polar Express movie time.

Apparently at dinner Ben whispered to Papa, "Pap, did you get me just clothes or did you get some toys too?" Good thing I didn't hear that!

I should add that they saw 'Santa' at the mall last week. Sam was walking through and they asked to stop. Ben was very quick to say that it wasn't really Santa but one of his helpers and we had to have the discussion to keep that to himself as not to ruin it for other folks. The boys have not mentioned Santa at all this year so when they were done visiting we were anxious to see what they had to say. Ben asked for the LEGO Harbor set (check), Nathan wanted the Polar Express Train (whoops) and Nicholas, well, we still don't know what he said. It has been interesting as the boys do seem to understand the true meaning of Christmas and the story of St. Nicholas. So I'd say so far we're doing all right.  Nathan is very adamant that we make a birthday cake for Jesus so that is on our to do list Christmas Eve.
