Mommy cooking Thanksgiving Dinner
Gramps wrestling the 22lb turkey.
We ate late (around 2ish) so the boys would be rested. Afterwards Carol and I headed to Michael's - I know, Thanksgiving shopping - but it was so fun! I went because I wanted to get two of the crayola studio kits for the boys for Christmas and was waiting for them to be half off. Well, not only did I get them for 1/2 off, but for each one I bought I got a free crayola explosion kit. I ended up spending $12 for something I was looking for an getting $100 worth of merchandise. Not to bad! I will keep the explosion kits for spring as one of the patterns is the solar system and we will be studying that in science next semester. So, activity for school - check!
Carol and I hit the stores around 9am on Black Friday. It was so quite and empty! I think everyone shopped at midnight. We still found great deals and it was a very stress free shopping experience. We really had a great time. On Friday night Sam and I went out for his 33rd birthday. I kept telling the kids daddy was 40, but they wouldn't buy it :-) We did stocking shopping for the boys and had a very nice dinner at Macaroni Grill. Their Black Friday special was 1/2 off a bottle of wine. We took advantage of that.
This weekend we actually celebrated 3 birthdays - Sam, Sammy and Carol (Father, Mother, Son!)
I worked hard on the cake (hahaha)
Daddy got a new sander from Mammy and Gramps and a mechanics tool set from mommy for his truck. It did not come all in the proper slots. The boys really enjoyed helping him put all the pieces in the correct spot. Ben got Daddy a hammer, nail, tape measure holder for his belt, Nathan got him some organizers for his tool bench and Nicholas got daddy a mini sharpie. Yep, they picked them all out themselves! He is excited to go shopping with his gift card from Nanny and Papa and already knows what he wants!
I also got him Fast Five on blu-ray which we watched last night and was awesome!
