Ben did great at basketball tryouts. He really enjoyed himself. Don't mind his outfit, he is soccer on bottom and basketball on top!
On Sunday we had morning service, Ben went on a field trip and then we hustled from church to his afternoon soccer games. Yikes!
Ben had a shutout in goal at his soccer games. He is really showing progress and talent in the goal. This isn't the best video, but it is hard to catch him in action as you would have to have the camera on him the whole game. They had some sort of team conference, and then he had a little faux pas when he threw the ball, but that's ok!
Today (Tuesday) we started our unit study on rocks, so I'm sure I'll have more post on this as it will take us awhile to complete. We started growing our our crystals today.
How to Grow Crystals:
Step 1: Write your name, cut it out and tape it on your jar.
Step 2: Cut a string and tie it around a pencil to put in your jar.
Ben was kind enough to help Nicholas out.
Step 3: Boil 1/2c water.
Step 4: Dissolve salt in the water until you cannot dissolve any more (aprox. 4tsp).
Here, Nicholas is stirring his salt to dissolve it in the water.
Next, transfer the mixture to your glass jar and drop the string in the water. We added food coloring to each to make it more entertaining.
Lastly - wait patiently!
This afternoon while Nicholas was sleeping the boys worked on an "About Me" poster. One of the questions was "I live_____". Ben put Maryland. Nathan said "On the Earth's crust". Well, at least somebody was listening this morning!
