A Dream Come True - A White Christmas in Maryland

I'm sure everyone has heard that we got one heck of a storm. We ended up getting at least 2' at our house. This storm set the record for snowfall in the month of December in Maryland. Ben was estatic - and that is an understatement. He just loves it. Nathan, not so much. But he is warming up to a it a little. He also has been suffering from a flare up in his arthritis this past week so I think that might have something to do with it. Sam was gone most of the weekend plowing so we did a lot of Christmas baking (see the next post)

This first round of pictures are from Saturday morning. We woke up to at least a foot on the ground already. On Friday we had looked everywhere for a sled, but we couldn't find one. Sam decide to make his own sled. We were going to use the tops of the recycling containers but this worked out pretty good.

Sam making a sled. You can see Ben in the background watching the snow out the window and on the TV the road conditions. And wow - my house looks trashed!

The sled at work! Ben actually went on Sunday with some friends to the park to sled on the hill and he said the tube worked pretty well.

Ben shoveling us out Saturday morning - we had at least double this amount by time it stopped coming down.

This picture was taken around 10a.m. The snow continued to fall until 10pm.

Nathan ventured outside once in the morning but wasn't very impressed.

On Sunday morning the sun was out and temperatures warmed up a little. Sam had to go back to plowing, but we got an early morning walk in first. Nicholas just loved being out in it.

Nicholas getting ready to go.

We were able to convince Nathan to walk, but he wouldn't go for a ride on the sled.

Ahhh, finally a purpose for Zoe! A sled dog! She did a great job pulling Ben and he thought it was a riot.

On Monday afternoon Sam used the fourwheeler to dig out our neighbors parking spots (They have street parking only). Ben was very excited to help out. (Nathan was napping) Nicholas LOVED the four wheeler. It was running when we put him on it. When I took him off he started crying and reached his arms out for Sam. It was pretty funny.

One last photo - the boys getting ready to open an early present from Mammy. Ben got a cool book called Gramp Sam and Nathan got a Thomas book that had tree ornaments in the back. He even shared them with Ben.
