Nathan's Big Boy Bed & Sandbox

Sam's project on Friday while I was at work was to fix the boy's sandbox. The sand was pretty much gone and he decided to expand it. We found out later that the place where he got sand must have measured incorrectly, as we had WAY too much. The boys are loving it. Ben was in bed (didn't have a nap) when we filled it, so Nathan got to enjoy it by himself. You'll see he is only in a diaper as he had just had a bath. He had his second bath after this episode.

This weekend also marked Nathan's move to a Big Boy Bed. While he is not trying to get out of his crib, we decided it was time. So on Saturday we unbunked the beds and then headed to Frederick to order a mattress. The plan was to put his crib mattress in the bed until the twin comes in sometime this week and then if it didn't work, we could easily move him back to his crib. It appeared at first that he was very excited about it.

Well, bedtime came and we put Nathan in his new bed. He layed down and said goodnight. I went in and checked on him a few minutes later and he was looking out the window. I said, if you don't lay down you'll have to go back in your crib. So he layed down for awhile. About 5 minutes later he decided, the crib sounded good and hauled his pillow and monkey and threw them in! He then put his arms up asking me to put him in. So I did and he slept all night. Hmmm.

Well, nap time today (Sunday) came along and he asked to sleep in his bed. So we moved the mattress back and he laid down and went straight to sleep!
