THE CRONKITE BOY'S TOP WAYS TO BEAT THE HEAT!
#1 - BEACH!!
We have been become regulars at Greenbrier Lake. With kids in carseats free and all other passengers $3, it has become an favorite of both the kids and daddy's wallet. We went this past week with a group of friends and my personal angel McKenna (my Mother's Helper). She is a huge help and the kids love her.

No photos of Nathan, he was either swimming with me or resting in the pack n' play. I really wish I had gotten a picture as he was a riot in that pack n' play, but we were in the water when it happened, so sadly, no photo.
#2 - Splash Park / Pool in Purcellville.
We just love Franklin ParK in Purcellville, but it is very expensive. We sucked it up and went with my friend Pam and Ben's friend Jack for an afternoon. Nathan had a blast on the water slides. Ben decided that he couldn't do anything without swim goggles, so we had a good laugh at that!

#3: Daddy's Boat
As has become habit, we took the boat out last Sunday.

#4 Splash Mat.
Seeing how much Nicholas LOVES the water, I decided to dig out the splash mat that Joanna got Nathan for his birthday last year (and subsequently disliked, surprise...). Nicholas LOVES it. He did get a little frustrated when he couldn't 'catch' the water.
So that is how we are keeping cool.
Nicholas has also found ways to chill in the house.
And it appears that we aren't the only ones looking for a cooler spot. This was what greeted us at the back door after our boat ride. Sam attempting to carry it to the woods on a rake was very picture worthy, but I was too busy laughing to catch a shot!
