What a crazy fall we have! 6 sports and homeschooling a 1st, 3rd and 5th grader! Yep, lots of sports, basically our day resets at 4pm. The boys have the luxury of sleeping in (which they don't take advantage of) and afternoon napping (which I MAKE them take advantage of) and just love to get out and be active!
Nicholas: Karate, Swimming and Soccer
Nathan: X-country and Hockey
Ben: Soccer
- and of course they are all scouts!
So some updates:
NATHAN: no hockey photos yet. Travel hockey is proving quite the time commitment but he is loving it! First tournament is Halloween Weekend at Hersey PA.

After months of begging, Nathan has joined the local x-country team. After two weeks of completing practice with his age group, then asking coach to go run with the middles school kids (yep, two practices) he is now only with the middle school kids. Crazy 3rd grader! He had his first meet on Sunday and placed fourth - pretty amazing for his first time! He is excited to try to beat his time this weekend. He ran 1.24miles in 10:02 - he needs to be closer to 9:50 to be looking at leading the pack. He is having a blast! Amazing cross training - he is much faster and stronger on the ice as a result of running almost 10miles a week!
Team Warm Up - Nathan has on the Under Armor sweatshirt. I don't know where the rest of the team is, they have a rather large squad....
And they are off!!
Nathan and this boy played pass the whole time. For looking pretty beat, the other kid dug deep at the end. Nathan kept looking behind him and held third until the very end - he didn't realize you speed up when you get close to the finish line and he lost his third place spot in the final seconds. He said that won't happen again!
Very happy with his 4th place ribbon.

Nicholas is enjoying soccer but loves karate and swim the most. Swimming has been a challenge. He made swim team this year vs swimming pre-comp and the step up has been a lot for him. He is getting stronger and not nearly as tired as he has been. He earned his Orange Belt at karate this past weekend.
Ben had his first soccer game in the POURING rain - so no photos. In other news, he earned his Religious Emblem which was handed out at church service which was very exciting for him.
He is also deep in planning on his chicken coop. The design is complete and he will begin building this weekend. He is very exciting and this has been a fun project to work with Daddy on. Here he is with all the lumber he milled with Daddy up at the farm a few weeks ago. He is lucky his father has free wood and has a sawmill!
