Ben's theme was Winter Olympics and we had a lot of fun decorating for it :-)
Sam and I were entertained playing 'who can identify the most flags'? Wow, we did not do so good!

Started his cake at 6:30pm last night so I didn't go very fancy. But, I found sometimes simple is just as nice!
Getting a little help
Ben made me very proud this birthday. Instead of gifts from his friends he asked for donations for the local Cold Weather Shelter (he is opening a present from Nana above). The response was tremendous and we will be headed there tomorrow to turn the food in. He gave me the best present a child could give - being selfless on his birthday and thinking of others. I'm just beyond the moon pleased with him on this.
Check out the earlier post when we gave him his presents from us. Even though his birthday isn't till Wednesday he was in the birthday mood after the party. He gave us zero ideas. He was a bit nervous at what he was going to get but of course, Mom and Dad did great!
When we told him these were the same radios used by firefighters and police officers he was supper impressed. Sam locked the channels so we won't be going to jail anytime soon.
