Digging Out

It has been a very rough week and even rougher past 36hrs.
We got nailed with the ice storm up on the mountain. With lines in the road, tress down and the roads closed nobody was going anywhere.  We lost power early Wednesday morning and got it back late Friday night - we were lucky as some neighbors are still waiting.  It was weird to drive down into Frederick and everything looked normal then head back up the mountain and trees are down everywhere, lines in the road and cars 'iced' in.

I don't' have photos of our back yard but we have a significant amount of clean up to do.

Trying to capture the 'beauty' of the mess

Not looking good for our front yard tree. While I was never a fan of it, it did shade the upstairs bedrooms in the summer.

In other news we are continuing with our Native American unit study.  Here are some Inuit Fishing pictures the boys made.  Learned lots about how much whales meant to their survival.  You can't see but these were quite a project.  The whales were cut out then covered in sheetrock patch to give texture, then colored and layered with foam and cardstock.
