For Christmas the boys bought me every tool imaginable to make fondant. So, I guess that was a sign. I have to admit I have never tackled it as it just looks hard. I went with a marshmallow fluff version of the recipe and have to say it was quite easy. Dying the fondant was a pain in the you know what but other than that - it went better than expected. Nicholas had a blast playing with the left over pieces and decorated the back of the cake for me :-)

I was quite pleased for my first ever foray into this world. Have to say, I just don't like the look of a fondant covered cake as well as a tip decorated one. Talk about a sugar high!
Nicholas loved it!
This past weekend we stayed at a hotel in Baltimore (everyone's treat for bdays) and went to a show at Medieval Times. If you haven't been - it is awesome. This marks our third time there, first time with all the kids. I scored on some tickets on groupon so it was actually affordable. The boys LOVED it. Ben had been once and loved it just as much the next time. Nicholas and Nathan didn't speak - they were enthralled. I had to keep telling them to eat as they serve a course at a time.
Announcement that the gates were opening by the King of the court. As you can see the boys dressed appropriately.
Nicholas used his money to buy a light up sword.
The final battle. They drop the nets when they do the actual sword fights so the photos didn't come out so good - plus they are moving fast!
This was Nathan's face for the entire two hours. If you asked him if he was having fun he would break into a huge grin. He is very much looking forward to going back again.
This was Nicholas' favorite fight scene. As he said - "Mommy he threw his shield like Captain America!". Ah yes.....EVERYTHING comes back to Captain America in Nicholas land.
