So, for those of you that don't know, we got hit pretty hard in Brunswick. At one point Tuesday we had the fire company, power company, a skid loader and The Weather Channel film crew (more on that later) at our house. It was crazy. We lost two trees, one on Sam's truck and one RIGHT BESIDE the car. It was nutty. Not sure if the footage made it on tv, but it was pretty crazy to have them at our house filming!
Monday night was crazy for the boys. The ladder truck came almost every 1/2hr so the house was filled with the strobe lights. There were just so many lines down on our street.
Brunswick St was the only thru road on Tuesday morning so when the power company showed up Tuesday morning we had a parade. There were about 25 trucks in all - it was a neat sight and fun for the boys. On the far right you can see where our neighbors lost their porch roof. Others lost siding and lots of shingles. Luckily, our house is in tack.
Looked even worse at 11pm in the middle of the hurricane with a flashlight and fireman.
A bit more to the right and we would have lost the car. We couldn't tell until daylight so spent most of the night thinking the car was a loss.
Sammy's truck took one for my van . If you look hard behind Sammy's truck you can see our neighbors trampoline which didn't do so well.
We are quite sure that Sammy's truck rack saved his bacon.
Clean up
A bit of work to do this weekend. Thank goodness Sammy is an Arborist and has access to a chipper!
