This morning I sat by the window with my cup of coffee watching the action outside. Lined up at the corner were the elementary kids with their parents - all with their new backpacks and sneakers ready to go. Parent had their camera on hand, ready for the requisite 1st day of school photo. Slowly, they loaded on the bus as each took their turn on the steps for that shot. All I could think was - that poor bus driver is going to be so late today!
So this got me thinking of the things that my kids will miss out on by being homeschooled. While I don't think they mind the oversight of this possibly embarrassing moment, I did want to capture our 1st day of school - and hey! Almost everyone is even dressed. A good start to the school year!
I look forward to reading everyones blog this coming week and seeing YOUR back to school shots.
So you haven't heard from us as we have been sick since we left Maine. Bacterial pneumonia, two cases of viral pneumonia and general lung yuckiness has plagued us all. Today is our first fever free / somewhat happy day - yeah!
This past weekend we tried to squeeze in one last camping trip. Had to leave early on Saturday morning to take Nathan back to the Dr. and for another x-ray but still had fun while we were there. I have promised the boys once everyone is happy we will skip school one day and go to the lake as they were short-changed two lake days by us coming home early.
Mommy enjoying her trip - not sure why I look pregnant in this photo (I'm not). Funny thing is I'm the thinnest I've been due to sickness / not eating. Just a bad position / shot I guess!
We took the dogs and I think we just about did Zoey in. She hasn't walked so much and on un-even ground in a long time. She was VERY happy to be home!
Sam taught Ben to play checkers on this trip. At this point we were checkered out and he was playing himself - I wonder who won?
