Enjoying the new sleeping area
Thank goodness I had packed games, puzzles and coloring.
Daddy relaxing. This couch actually folds down and Ben slept here and Nicholas and Nathan used the end bed. It worked out well.
Not a good picture of the pop up as it was packed with stuff, but this was the 'adult' sleeping area
Luckily they fell asleep before the worst of the storm. Sam and I sat at the table playing cribbage and watching the folks across the way attempt to set up their tents in the deluge. Been there, done that.
After a very wet Friday, we had beautiful weather. We started Saturday morning with a hike.
The boys had a blast looking for the trail blazes and verifying the color was correct. Here they are pointing to one.
Snack break
About a mile in, we ended up by our campsite. Sam, Nicholas and Ben headed back to start a fire. Nathan and I ended up hiking over 3.5miles - he did great!
Continuing on to the trial junction.
A happy hiker at the end of the trip - and begging to go more!
Next, time for the beach!
The older boys and I decided to go for kayak trip. I told them they had to help out. They only made it to the bottom of the grass hill before they gave up on me (that would be the grass hill that goes to the car below the truck).
Nathan and I are in the front kayak, Ben behind us. Nathan did most of our paddling.
Ben only lasted one trip around the lake and went back in. Nathan and I stayed out for quite a bit longer until I saw the time. He was very sad to be done with the free ride.
And some random pictures:
Nicholas pointing out where we had hiked. He was quite obsessed with the map and kept looking at it.

Yummy smores!
Ben learned to chop firewood. Mommy required alcohol for this activity. As Daddy said, there are things we do when Mommy isn't around. I agree!
We rounded out the weekend with a morning hike on Sunday
Then, time to pack up and head home!
Next camping trip scheduled for June 21st - Nathan's 5th birthday!
