TV at our house is such a difficult thing. We pitched cable and the ridiculous monthly bill associated with it awhile ago and went the NetFlix route. The boys really like the documentaries like Mighty Machines and Extreme Engineering Fixes - which I have no issue with as they are actually learning something. Plus, it entertains Ben and Nathan from 6-7am so I get a whole extra hour of sleep....ahhhhh. While Nicholas likes these, he is still my little 2yr old who enjoys younger shows. Well, I just found Scholastic Storybook Treasury series - and Oh my goodness. How wonderful!!! Just about every book we are going to study this year in Five in Row is on here. Nicholas and Nathan just love it too. Here they are enjoying Chicka Chicka Boom Boom before naps today - the DVD does a much better job of me with the song :-)
I had an Amazon gift card and ordered my own copy (they are watching a library copy) and a couple others that had books we are studying. I like that the also have the option to have the story caption on the bottom and it highlights what word the narrator is on. It's like Reading Rainbow - the new generation ! This will be great with Ben.
Other than that, Ben had a unit test in Math and we went to story time for Nicholas at the library. Nicholas LOVES it and asks to go each week. We never could because I worked Wednesdays. Ben acts like he isn't interested to stay 'cool' and Nathan really likes it but tries to follow Ben's lead. Sigh. Tonight is Nathan's first game and Pioneer club starts afterwards. Should be exhausting!
