We'll start with decoration! The boys just love to use the hold puncher, so I tried to find something that involved that. I had gotten the maple leaves and acorns on clearance last year at Michael's, so I was like - have at it! They were very entertained and Ben said he could do it "all day". Nicholas missed out on the fun as he was exhausted from the soccer weekend and went to bed early.
Punching their holes
Next I used embroidery floss to make a line and tied it on a thick quilt tying needle. These have a large eye, are bulky and are not sharp - so perfect! They used that to get all of their items on their string.
Nathan had little bit of trouble...but was very proud so we made it work!
Next, Daddy hung them up for us.
Finished Product!!
On to demolition. We are tearing out the second closet in Ben and Nicholas' room to make a built in bureau. In the process, new molding and wall color will also go up. This is the only room left that has some original molding still. Ben has chosen lime green for his bedroom. I have conceded with two walls white, two walls green. They had a blast taking off mop board and throwing it out the window into Sam's trailer. Ben wasn't much for clean up - he seemed to disappear once the 'demolition' part was over.
They have learned from the master!
I think Sam might feel like he is doing circles. When we bought the house, the order was bathroom, front bedroom (now Ben and Nick's), living room, kitchen. We just put a new floor in the bathroom and now he is in the boys rooms. Oh boys, I better think long and hard before I tell him what I want to do next!
