Weekend in Delaware

Coming off of Vacation Bible School one would typically rest. Not the Cronkites! We headed to Delaware to Kevin and Sara's house for the weekend with 3 very tired boys. We visited the playground and hung out at their house on Saturday and on Sunday hit the Philly Zoo and then came home. I must say I was very impressed with the Philly Zoo. Very nice, clean and the animals had wonderful homes. We look forward to visiting it again. Monday and Tuesday this week will be rest and laundry. On Wednesday Ben heads to Maine with Mammy for a week and a half until we met up with them next Friday. His first trip away from the nest. He is so excited - I have tears just thinking about it!

The playground had one giant sandbox

I really have no idea what he is holding, just that he wanted his photo taken.

Watching the Galapagos tortoises, which, were in mating season. To our awe, we actually got to witness it first hand and told the boys (as the guy  next to us came up with) that the one turtle was giving the other one a piggyback ride. Discovery Channel lesson learned - male Galapagos tortoises are very vocal during, ahem, well, you know. For full video, check out Kevin's Facebook page.

Before the science lesson

Enjoying a nice ice cream at the end of the day

HEEEERRREEE birdie birdie birdie.... Nathan, Nicholas and Lauren were very patient, but alas, didn't get any closer.
