Instead of buying a cake, this year I decided to have the boys make the cake. Oh joy!
VERY Excited about the upcoming project.
Yes, Box mix. Subtract however many points need be for that. I didn't want to push my luck.
Enjoying the post mixing reward.
Next we made some frosting which was so fun for everyone as the mixer seems to be the best toy in the house!
Time to frost!
Nicholas required a little coaxing. When I gave him the bowl of frosting and spatula he just assumed he was to eat it!
Nathan took the frosting job very seriously. He didn't miss a spot and was very focused.
The finished product! What a beautiful cake! So much better than store bought :-)
As you can see, we lost a little of it in the process.
The boys spent all afternoon Tuesday making Daddy's birthday cards. Let's just say I was EXHAUSTED Tuesday night! They were so excited and proud to show Daddy their work.
We spent "Black Friday" trimming the house. I had picked up a 3 wise men set with camels (a little smaller than a Barbie) last year on clearance. They were a huge hit.
This morning the boys headed out to delivery some firewood with Daddy. I had to take a picture. I just can't believe how big they are getting. Ben just looks all grown up.
