Christmas Tree Hunt

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I'd like to say it is because nothing exciting has happened, but the truth is I've lost time to snap photos of our life!

First off, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Nana and Papa (my folks) in town. I do not have any photos of the week since we used my mom's camera. The down side was that Nicholas had an ear infection, Ben had a sinus infection and croup and Nathan had croup. But hey, what would the holidays (or any day) be in the Cronkite house with out fevers and illness!! At least we have a sense of humor about it-as does our pediatrician!

The weekend after Thanksgiving we went and got our Christmas tree. It was a very warm morning. We got there and realized we forgot to go to the ATM. We had $40 between the two of us, so we need a 6' or smaller tree. With that goal in mind we set off!

Ben was very excited to pull the tree cart. It was down hill to the trees, so that made it even more fun for him.

Nicholas had his first ride in the Kelty carrier. It gave him a better view than the Ergo carrier does.

Ben and Nathan on the hunt for the perfect tree!

"No Nathan - check out this one up here!"

And the winner (well, the best one in our price range!) is found.

And the tree is on the move.

Things got a little harder as we headed up hill. For as small is he is, Nathan pulled his weight. :-)

The good news is that Nathan did not cry this year at the tree. (Flashback to last year he screamed when Sam brought the tree in the house and avoided it for at least a week and cried every time he saw it). Also we were very surprised that Nicholas could care less. For those of you that aren't as acquainted with Nicholas, he is into EVERYTHING and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. He still has not even gone near it which is so strange. The good news is we didn't have to put a baby gate around it which is nice.

The tradition in our house is the youngest puts the angel on top and the oldest puts on the first ornament. We don't know what we are going to do next year when Nicholas is in the mix. Time for new traditions (suggestions welcomed!). I'm a little bummed that Nathan doesn't have any pants in these photos, but oh well.
