No Girls Allowed!

Camping season is here, but we decided that it would be a bit too much this spring / early summer to go with all the boys. Both Ben and Nathan camped at 5wks of age, so I feel as though we are slighting Nicholas, but with only one pack n' play, Nathan still not boycotting the crib, and a very 'mobile' 5m old, we have decided to wait until early fall.

With that said, Sam decided it was time to start his BOYS ONLY camping trips, so the 1st weekend in June has now been dubbed ' No Girls Allowed' camping weekend. On Friday after lunch, my friend Pam came to stay with Nicholas while Sam, Ben and Nathan headed out into the very stormy weather for their trip. It had been heavily raining for a couple of days but the outlook for Saturday was good, so Sam went for it. I tried not to worry about them :-) They had a blast. Sam got the tent set up and then hung out in the screen room where it was dry while the boys had a blast in the rain. It took a whopping 45minutes for them to fall into a muddle puddle! It stopped raining at around 5:00pm so they were able to dry things out and even get a bike ride in. They were home Saturday night, very dirty but very happy!

Camping is Hard Work!!

So did mom enjoy her night? Almost. I got home from work at 6pm and nursed Nicholas who promptly feel asleep. Thinking it was for the night, my friend Rachel and I opened a bottle of wine. By the second glass I was feeling pretty good and tired so I crawled into bed. About 10 minutes later Nicholas woke up screaming and didn't stop until Sunday night. We called the doctor on Sunday and found out that his Zantac dose needed to be upped. 1 dose of the proper amount and all was well again. Poor me....and poor Nicholas.

Sounds like you need to start making some serious plans for the the first weekend in June 2010! I love the picture of the exhaused boys in the trailer.
